Set in the same typeface, weight and layout as a British road sign, cut in vinyl and lit from behind in warm white. Green for the places worth pointing to.

East London's Stratford. The one with the station you can never find the right exit at.

The body is printed in matt black in Manchester, then posted down to wherever it's headed.

This isn't a road sign look, it's road sign grammar: the correct typeface weight for dark lettering on a light panel, and the direction arrow taken straight from the official working drawings. The details are right because getting them wrong is the whole difference.
